Research on income potential
With the Close By Catch PPP, we have conducted research into a better earnings model for Dutch fishermen and consumer behavior among young people with regard to the consumption of fish. These studies have resulted in two scientific reports that provide local fishermen, traders and the catering industry with solid tools to shape their trade, business operations and revenues more efficiently.
Analysis of consumer behavior
Together with Wageningen University Research, we conducted real-life consumer behavioral research within the project. The aim is to investigate how younger consumers more easily opt for fresh fish from Scheveningen. In addition, we worked together with Wageningen University Research on a business economics study to strengthen the earning capacity for Scheveningen fresh fish. Finally, innovative fish products are developed through co-creation with young students. This should improve the consumption of underutilized and wasted North Sea fish species.
