Accelerating a future-proof food system

The Smart Food Alliance was founded on our initiative. The goal of the alliance is to connect medium-sized agri-food companies and facilitate them in taking independent and joint steps toward a healthy, circular and climate-neutral food system. The Smart Food Alliance functions as a knowledge and inspiration platform for companies, provides connections between government and business and developing building blocks for the development of future food policy.

Working on system change

We are building a community of medium-sized agri-food companies across the chain, accelerating transitions together and working towards the realisation of a healthy, circular and climate neutral food system.

As secretariat of the Smart Food Alliance, we are committed to developing knowledge and gaining insight, as well as sharing experiences so that the innovative power of the sector is enhanced. To this end, we organise meetings at one of the member companies. During these sessions, recent developments, challenges, and opportunities seen by the companies are discussed to accelerate transitions in our food system. We are also committed to developing a 'Delta Plan' Food Transition: for more direction, knowledge, and resources towards a future-proof food system. Together with the government, we want to shape food policy and remove obstacles.

Climate neutral food

Over 30 agri-food companies are currently affiliated with the Smart Food Alliance. They are taking independent and joint steps toward a future-proof food system. The goal is to further scale up, elaborate, and implement the ‘Delta Plan’ Food Transition. Together we are actively working to produce and distribute healthy, circular, and climate-neutral food by 2030.
