Bidfood is an online wholesaler for the professional food world: from cafeteria to caterer, from canteen to healthcare facility and from hotel to restaurant. Bidfood needs packaging for its products. To reduce its footprint, Bidfood has declared sustainable packaging as a spearhead in their sustainability policy. Bidfood asked us to help think about the possibilities surrounding the sustainability of their packaging.

Packaging policy

Together with Bidfood, we drafted the packaging policy. With objectives to make primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging more sustainable. This packaging policy focuses on four questions. Is the packaging necessary? Can it be reduced? Is it recyclable? Is the packaging reusable?

Actively sharing knowledge

To ensure that all buyers are aware of this new policy on packaging, we organised a knowledge session. From now on, all Bidfood buyers have the correct knowledge in this field. In addition, Bidfood published its packaging policy and discussed it with all its suppliers. Progress is monitored annually.
